The 2009 Race the River Kid’s Duathlon
at Riverstone was a lot of fun!
The Kid’s Duathlon, is a fundraiser
addition to Race the River Triathlon at Riverstone.
Participants of the triathlon on Sunday, July 25, will be
coming to Riverstone to pick up their race packets
on Saturday, July 24 and to preview the race venue.
Because the event raises funds for the Boys and Girls
Club of Kootenai County, and, partly due to families
visiting the race venue on Saturday, the kid’s event
makes for a true family weekend.
There are 4 age groups, each completing
a corresponding course:

1/2 mile run - 4 mile bike - 1/2 mile run
9:00 AM
Awards ceremony:

All of the running will be within
Riverstone Park around the lake. The bike segment will
be on the Prairie Trail between Beebe Blvd and south of
Kathleen. The transition area for bikes will be at the
entrance to the Park.
Participants will receive a goodie bag,
t-shirt, a participant medal, after race snacks, and a
bib number. Ribbons awarded to the first 3 finishers in
each age division for girls and boys. Awards ceremony to
follow each age group’s completion of the course and
will include random drawing prizes.
This is a timed event so each child will
wear a timing chip.
The entry fee is $30 and is
NON-REFUNDABLE. Registration is online at
www.racetheriver.com.
Mail-in forms are available to download. Packets can be
picked up at the transition area beginning at 8:00 AM
RACE DAY but no later than 30 minutes before your
child’s start time (chip will be provided at that time)
The event will be capped at 150
children.
All children must wear a helmet anytime
they are on their bike.

"THIS IS A GREAT
EVENT!!! The kids had a great time with the
age-appropriate distances, great announcing, chip
timing, finisher medals, yummy snacks and ice cream
afterwards, and fun awards ceremony with prizes for
the kids. We'll definitely be back to do it again
next year. By the way, the course is FLAT (awesome
for kids) and paved. Would be totally doable for
kiddos still using training wheels." - trigirl77 |
