DO NOT REGISTER FOR THIS RACE BEFORE READING:

Before you register for this event, understand there are NO REFUNDS.
We understand circumstances can prevent you from racing, such as work schedules,
emergencies and injuries so we offer transfers of your paid entry until July 21, 2012.

We will work again on a new bike course, but are never guaranteed will get a permit. We will not increase the field size of this race with the current bike course, however. And we will space the starting waves out more to keep the bike course less congested if the 3 loop course remains another year.

Packet Pick-up will be on Saturday, July 28, 2012 in Riverstone (Coeur d Alene). You must pick up your packet and provide ID. Race the River is a USAT sanctioned race that will REQUIRE EVERYONE including team members to show picture ID at packet pickup.

If you are a USAT license holder in 2012, you will be asked for your license number during registration and be required to show your license and ID at packet pickup.

If you are not a USAT license holder, you will pre pay your one-day license when you register. You will then complete your form at packet pickup and show picture ID.

The one day USAT license is for adults (18yrs and over). Youth (17yrs and under) require an annual USAT license for $5.00. The youth USAT license is valid for all USAT sanctioned races in 2011.

There will not be a processing fee for your registration on Active.com, however, if you are not an annual USAT license holder, you will have to pay $10 for a one-day license/ $5.00 youth annual and there is a $0.68 processing for that.

You CANNOT RACE without either an annual or one-day license.

An USAT annual license is $39.00 for adults so if you plan on racing more than three USAT sanctioned races in 2012, an annual license is cost effective. For example, locally, Race the River Triathlon, Coeur d'Alene Triathlon, Hayden Triathlon, Ironman Coeur d'Alene, Troika and the Spokane Triathlon are all USAT sanctioned races.

For more information on USAT membership go to: www.usatriathlon.org

For 2012, we will award the top 5 finishers in each individual category and the top 3 teams with medals.

Clydesdale: Males 200 lbs and over who do not want to compete in age group divisions. If you choose the Clydesdale division, you will automatically be placed in one of two categories based on age: 39 & under (open) and 40 & over (masters).

Elite: To choose this category, you must meet at least one of the following:
  - You currently race as a pro
  - You have completed the Race the River course or expect to complete it in: 1:05 or less for men, 1:15 or less for women.

The top five Elite men and women will receive awards. The Elite athletes will not be considered for age group awards.

Teams (Relays): You may choose to compete as a team of either 2 or 3 members. In the case of 2 members, one person will complete 2 legs of the race. It doesn’t matter which legs are done. For example, Team member 1 may swim and bike while team member 2 runs, or team member 1 may swim and run while team member 2 bikes, etc. Teams will automatically be placed divisions based on the combined gender of the members. Team Divisions are: Female, Male and Mixed. The top 3 teams in each division will receive an award. We have eliminated combined ages categories because history shows there are often only one or two teams in several categories.
